It is time to be heard

Around the world we have seen people speaking out against misjustice, however the complexity of this problems and the ache of protesters of not being heard have obliged people to take violent actions which can end in them getting hurt or it takes away the power of this social fighters. Through this project we wanted to give a strong voice to those who are struggling to be heard by the government and spark a dialogue on the importance of self expression, peace and the crimes against human rights lived in Mexico.
In Mexico 13 people disappear every day.
Mexico numbers in impunity and forced disappearance raise every year. Family members may never get closure for their loved ones and some may fight for years without an answer from the government.
Our project is designed as a peaceful protest that can change the way protesters are viewed and give them the visibility to keep on fighting for what they believe in.
Me diste la idea más bonita
In the scum manifesto Valerie Solanas defines beautiful idea as the glorification of war , militarism and patriostism as ideas worth dying for.
For family members and friend that have a loved one who has disappeared, the unsceseasable search of finding out what happened to them, becomes a beautiful idea an idea worth dying for.

Our phrase me diste la idea más bonita translate to "you gave me the most beautiful idea"as an homage to those who will fight for the ones who have disappeared relentlesly and who might get tired but always have in mind who and why are they fighting for.
Peace is the only way
The garments symbolize a peaceful protester. Each garment was designed to protect and visibilize the protester.

The hat covers the identity of the protester, it gives the protagonism not to the person who is standing there but to the beautiful idea. It also protects the person from facial recognition technology and other security breaches during a protest.

The overall is a symbol of hard work and protection it is our way of dressing up for the ocassion and keeping the protester protected.

The jacket is the garment of individuality even though it is a collective force everyone needs to feel it personal therefor the jacket is designed to have a protest sign in the back and personalize it as every person chooses.

the horn is the most important symbol of our protest it is the sound of our fight. The unique and peaceful sound of the horn visibilize our protest, it is the distinctive sound that will remind others the whole reason and context of our protest.

El lugar de aparición
Public space is known as the space of appearance, it is the place to be heard and seen. Through out history it has changed from belonging to only the Bourgeoisie to being a space for everyone and as a conseuquence it it a space for dialogue. Our garments are designed to take place in public spaces to resist the weather and to resist opressors we may encounter.
Me haces falta
The name of our project is inspired on the french phrase Tu me manques. In english it means "I miss you" but the literal translation is "you are lacking to me". It implies that a person has become an essential part of you as if some part of you went missing when the person is not around.The overwhelming feeling of a family not knowing what happened to their loved one may never recover the missing part of them.
